VERDANT VEIL | CHEEKWOOD ESTATE & GARDENS | NASHVILLE, TN

AUGUST 1 - OCTOBER 4, 2026

Bathhouse Tulipiere, 2026, earthenware, slip, glaze, 60” x 20” x 20”

Verdant Veil reflects research into Cheekwood’s porcelain collection, architecture, and gardens. Inspired by frescoed interiors, custom wallpaper was handpainted to serve as a backdrop for ten ceramic works. Using furniture from the permanent collection for display, the immersive installation examines the relationship between objects, ornament, and the spaces they inhabit.

Cheekwood is a 55-acre botanical garden, arboretum, and art museum. The estate was built in the 1930’s by Leslie and Mabel Cheek with wealth from the Maxwell House coffee fortune. The 30,000-square-foot mansion now features period rooms and rotating fine art exhibitions.

Artworks represented by AGO Projects.
